Celebrating Hawaii's Keiki at Kids Fest
October 23, 2011
The Storm Water team had a blast at the 7th annual Kids Fest at the Bishop Museum. Hundreds of families came out for the fun at this popular event hosted by Hawaii Pacific Health.
The Storm Water team set up quite an interactive tent including our popular photo booth, where kids can take a picture dressed up as Malama, the storm water mascot. Families then walked through a series of cool displays such as educational photos, the storm water model and finally a Concentration card game where they had to match the different debris items to receive a Kids Fest stamp on their event passport. Those waiting in line to participate in the fun were also asked to fill out our Storm Water Awareness Survey. Each family left with valuable knowledge about Storm Water and their photo in a souvenir photo frame! All the day’s activities provided ways for kids to understand how storm water pollution affects our oceans and waterways.

Kids Fest is a free event that promotes fitness and health for kids and families. Local celebrity and Olympic Gold Medalist Bryan Clay was also at the event to meet and greet attendees. The fun doesn’t stop here! Kids are welcome to visit our Kids Page for more activities to enjoy.
