Military Keiki Celebrate Earth Day by Learning About Storm Drains
April 23, 2011
Hundreds of military families from all branches of the Armed Forces enjoyed an afternoon of family fun at the Navy Earth Day Fair & Springfest Celebration at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam on April 23.
Storm Water Hawaii was among several environmental organizations teaching keiki and their parents about protecting and preserving our environment. The Storm Water Hawaii booth had a steady stream of visitors all afternoon.
Many kids were enamored with our storm water model and took a real interest in learning how Hawaii’s storm drains work and the importance of keeping them free of pollution. Keiki also took a spin at our popular prize wheel to test their storm water knowledge. Everyone who gave a correct answer was rewarded with a goodie bag filled with a pencil, magnet, stickers and activity booklet.

Water Hawaii kid's page.
