Congratulations to the Rotary Club of Kapolei Sunset for being HDOT Highways, Oahu District’s Fourth Quarter 2017 Adopt-A-Highway Champions!

Their route is along Farrington Highway from Kalaeloa Blvd. overpass in Kapolei to the Koʻolina exit, totaling approximately 1.5 miles.

“As volunteers from the Rotary Kapolei Sunset Club, we are dedicated to serving our community by keeping unsightly litter and bulk trash off our state roadways,” said Art Wallace of the Rotary Club of Kapolei Sunset. “It is disheartening to find harmful waste items such as styrofoam food trays, plastic items and even large pieces of furniture scattered throughout our highways. The Leeward coast is our home and we feel it is our responsibility to eliminate debris and create a trash-free Hawaii for our island community in Kapolei.

Special thanks to the volunteers at the Rotary Club of Kapolei Sunset for their efforts in helping prevent trash from entering our storm drains and protecting our waters. Mahalo for your commitment to the Adopt-A-Highway program!
