Congratulations to the Tripler Army Medical Center Alpha Company who has been selected as the Department of Transportation’s First Quarter 2014 Adopt-A-Highway Champions!
Alpha Company has been committed to keeping the area spanning from Bougainville Drive to Radford Drive, near Radford High School and Navy Hale Keiki School, clean and free of trash.
Teams of 25 to 45 volunteers collect six bags of trash a month.”
“We support this program so that we can give back to the community by providing safe clean roads and picking up trash that could potentially become a hazard,” said CPT. Tameka Tutt, Adopt-A-Highway Team Leader.
Alpha Company began volunteering their time with the Adopt-A-Highway program in September 2012. They organize teams of 25 to 45 volunteers to collect and dispose of approximately six bags of trash a month.
“The most interesting thing we got rid of was a bag of cement that had gotten wet and turned into a large rock,” Tutt said.
Thank you and congratulations again to the Tripler Army Medical Center Alpha Company for being our 2014 First Quarter Adopt-A-Highway Champions!
