Trash Free Hawaiʻi

Anything that goes into our storm drain system goes directly into the ocean untreated, negatively affecting the water quality and marine life. The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation, Oʻahu District’s Storm Water Management Program unveiled a new #TrashFreeHawaii campaign to promote the importance of trash reduction and preventing storm water pollution.

The campaign incorporates the use of Rainworks, a non-toxic environmentally safe super-hydrophobic invisible spray that appears only when wet. A water-activated positive message appears when wet, reminding us that we all have a responsibility to protect our water to keep our home a #TrashFreeHawaii.
