Anything that goes into our storm drain system goes directly into the ocean untreated, negatively affecting the water quality and marine life. DOT-HWYS, Oahu District’s Storm Water Management Program unveiled a new #TrashFreeHawaii campaign to promote the importance of trash reduction and preventing storm water pollution.

The campaign incorporates the use of Rainworks, a non-toxic environmentally safe super-hydrophobic invisible spray that appears only when wet. A water-activated positive message appears when wet, reminding us that we all have a responsibility to protect our water to keep our home a #TrashFreeHawaii.
