We are excited to announce that Mililani Hongwanji has been named Oahu District’s Fourth Quarter 2021 Adopt-A-Highway Champion! The team’s contributions have been instrumental in keeping our storm drains clear and preventing trash from entering our waters.

Mililani Hongwanji has been a participant of the state’s Adopt-A-Highway program since 1992. Their route along Kamehameha Highway starts at Waihau Street and ends at the Mililani pedestrian overpass.

“We try to practice selfless giving and compassion for other people and the environment through the Adopt-A-Highway program,” said Mililani Hogwanji’s Tyler Oshiro. “We enjoy giving a little of our time to make our local community feel safer and cleaner for everyone who walks or drives down the highway.”

The group hopes their efforts encourage people to be mindful of the importance and benefits of keeping our roads, parks and other shared spaces clean. Huge mahalo to Mililani Hongwanji for your commitment to keeping our roads and waters clean!
